Up and at ‘Em!

Hunt Seat team members were at the barn at 5:30 AM, dark and early. It was a nice chilly start to the day as barn chores were under way: horses were fed, tack was set out, water buckets filled, hay given, barn swept, and horses groomed. At 7:30 schooling began, team member prepared their designated horses to be brought out for them to warmed up by selected riders who were not competing. 50 minutes later, 40 horses were warmed up and ready to go. The coaches’ meeting started at 9 AM and show time kicked off at 10 AM.

Team Results

For the first time this whole semester St. Andrews’s Hunt Seat Team came in Reserve to UNC-Chapel Hill by 5 points. All in all though it was a very good day, everyone rode what they had to the best of their ability. The odds just were not in our favor in the end. This weekend is the last show of the semester at ECU.
